The 4-Step Playbook

Build Your Brand

Consistent handle across IG / TikTok / X. Post game highlights, training clips, behind-the-scenes. Aim for 3 posts/wk. Engagement > follower count for local deals.

Get the Paperwork Right

Every NIL deal must be disclosed to the club within 7 days. Use a written agreement — never a verbal handshake. FAU compliance reviews contracts free of charge.

Protect Eligibility

ACHA/AAU is club hockey — NIL rules are looser than NCAA, but still: no pay-for-play, no booster inducements, no use of FAU marks without permission.

Get Paid Properly

Set up a separate bank account. Track every dollar — NIL income is taxable (1099-NEC over $600). Save 25-30% for taxes.

Don't Do This

×Promote sports betting, alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis (FAU policy).
×Wear FAU jerseys/logos in paid posts without written permission.
×Sign anything over $5,000 without showing the club & a parent/advisor.
×Take cash from boosters with no contract — that's a violation, not NIL.
